HEPPS (CAS: 16052-06-5) is a commonly used Good's buffer component for biological research. HEPPS is often used as separator in ultrathin isoelectric focusing gels and enhances the resolution of phosphoglucomutase. HEPPS is used as a buffering agent in biology and biochemistry. HEPPS can be used for Folin protein detection, but cannot be used for biuret detection. Biological buffer, used in biochemical diagnostic kits, DNA/RNA extraction kits and PCR diagnostic kits. HEPPS has many characteristics similar to HEPES (CAS: 7365-45-9). Because of its high buffer range, it is suitable for phosphorylation reactions, especially when TriClne cannot be used.
